Once the harvesting and the activities have been completed, the teams may relax enjoying already prepared and matured olives, traditional smoked meat and cheeses while enjoying tequila and other drinks. There will also be a friendly competition of ‘Catch the Chicken’ amongst the teams, featuring actual live chickens. The winners (winning team) will be awarded commemorative ‘Master Chicken Catcher’ T-Shirts.
Later there will be a barbeque which will offer, among others, a vast variety of traditional Cyprus delicacies including pork and chicken souvlaki, shieftalia, traditional sausages and pastourma, charcoal baked potatoes, onions and olives, etc. Homemade Cyprus sweets and seasonal fresh fruit will accompany the feast as desserts. A DJ will also be present on the spot playing Latin, Cuban and Caribbean tunes, under the crystal clear starry Cyprus night sky.
At the end of the night, the participants will get on their buses with unforgettable memories and tastes and their day’s labor of olives, olive-oil, sweets or cactus fruit, which they themselves have collected, processed and prepared.
